Rookie Mistakes
By Editorial Staff
There’s really nothing quite like the NFL draft with all of the hype and the promise of young players set to make a huge impact and bring their teams back to glory. While that may sometimes be the case, when it comes to fantasy football, rookies don’t make nearly as much of an impact as their hype and name value would lead you to believe. Despite this, many fantasy players continue to mistakenly draft rookies way higher than they should. In fact, rookies becoming fantasy stars is definitely the exception, not the rule. For every Mike Williams and LeGarrette Blount, there is a Darrius Heyward-Bey or a C.J. Spiller. The idea is not to avoid rookies altogether, but to make sure that you’re drafting them based on sound analysis, not just the name recognition they present.
