Tampa Bay Hires LSU DBs Coach, Morris Claiborne on the Way?

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have hired LSU defensive backs coach Ron Cooper, and many people are already trying to connect some dots and say that he might be there to pave the way for one of his pupils at LSU, cornerback Morris Claiborne who is generally the consensus top cornerback prospect in the draft.

It also just so happens that cornerback is arguably the Bucs’ top need this offseason, so there is some definite connection to be made here. The Bucs could potentially be losing cornerback Aqib Talib who faces potential jail time, and Ronde Barber is a free agent and not getting any younger.

This could be some big news, or it could turn out to be nothing. The Bucs select fifth in the draft, and they would have to think very, very highly of Claiborne to select him that high. He is a great player, but is he top five good? A lot of people, including myself, think that way, but the Bucs will make the final call.
