17. Pittsburgh Steelers
Jarvis Jones
Outside Linebacker, Georgia
– With the move to release James Harrison, the Steelers find themselves in an unfamiliar position; having to figure out who their next pass rusher is off the edge. Jones was incredibly productive while at Georgia and as long as he checks out medically, could be a great player opposite Lamarr Woodley. If they feel the answer is already on their roster or that the neck is too much of a concern, the Steelers could opt for Kenny Vaccaro or a wide receiver here.

18. Dallas Cowboys
Bjoern Werner
Defensive End, Florida State
– With the move to the 4-3, which still makes no sense, the Cowboys have a few question marks along the defensive line. They could certainly use a 3-tech here but none appear viable and while they brought back Anthony Spencer for another year, he does not appear the long term solution. The Cowboys found themselves fortunate to be in position to select Werner and pair him with DeMarcus Ware off the edge.

19. New York Giants
Cornellius Carradine
Defensive End, Florida State
Tank Carradine is the most talented 4-3 defensive end prospect in this draft but an ACL tear hurt him in the draft process. He put up a remarkable workout on the 20th after the injury occurred in November but he still stands to at least spend some time on the PUP list. The Giants can never have too many talented defensive linemen and Arthur Brown is a fantastic option, but the Giants never seem to put that much emphasis on the position.
20. Chicago Bears
Arthur Brown
Inside Linebacker, Kansas State
– The Bears have added enough linebacker talent in the offseason that it is not a pressing need like it was before, but they are the Bears. They would love to add another institution to the middle of that defense and Brown is the best pure linebacker in the draft. He comes in and starts immediately and should be the man in the middle for the next decade.
21. Cincinnati Bengals
Johnathan Cyprien
Safety, Florida International
– A mild surprise here, had Brown been available here, it would have been difficult for them to pass. As he did go, a playmaking safety that can help them cause turnovers is their biggest need in the defense. Cyprien could be a huge addition to an already talented defense in need of speed and the ability to make plays on the football.
22. St. Louis Rams (from Washington)
Kenny Vaccaro
Safety, Texas
– The Rams put in place a nice set of corners last year but the safety position is pretty bare at this point. Vaccaro gives them the prototypical strong safety that can make plays in the box and man up tight ends and some slot receivers. The Rams suddenly have a good collection of talent at every level of their defense but they just need to develop
23. Minnesota Vikings
Keenan Allen
Wide Receiver, Cal
– The recent report of a failed drug test is concerning as is the recovery from the PCL injury he suffered. Having said that, Allen is the best receiver in this class and a fantastic fit for what the Vikings need for Christian Ponder. Along with Greg Jennings, the Vikings suddenly have a nice set of receivers and the building blocks for an effective offense.
24. Indianapolis Colts
Justin Hunter
Wide Receiver, Tennessee
Andrew Luck is a fantastic quarterback and giving him talented weapons is never a bad idea. Hunter is a fantastic receiver with prototypical triangle numbers and the potential to be a big time player. The combination of Reggie Wayne and Hunter could be devastating and Hunter can be the #1 when Wayne eventually leaves. This is a prime spot for a team to move up and take a quarterback as the Colts could look to add more picks.

25. Minnesota Vikings (from Seattle)
Chance Warmack
Offensive Guard, Alabama
– After getting their guy at receiver, the Vikings end the slide for Chance Warmack and plug him in at right guard immediately which only makes life easier for Adrian Peterson and Ponder. The Vikings were all set to hand the card in for Manti Te’o but this opportunity is too good to pass up.
26. Green Bay Packers
Datone Jones
Defensive End, UCLA
– The Packers are never afraid to pull the trigger on linemen they like on either side of the ball. Jones is a terrific football player that can make plays on his own but will not hesitate to create opportunities for teammates. He has some impressive athleticism and gives the Packers a lot of options with different packages.
27. Houston Texans
DeAndre Hopkins
Wide Receiver, Clemson
– The Texans have basically been looking for a legitimate #2 receiver as long as Andre Johnson has been there. And with Matt Schaub at quarterback, weapons are at a premium. Hopkins is an impressive route runner with great feet and a threat to make plays after the catch. This is a great fit for the Texans they try to keep that championship window pried open a little longer.
28. Denver Broncos
Damontre Moore
Defensive End/Outside Linebacker, Texas A&M
– With the snafu that cost the Broncos Elvis Dumerville, that hybrid pass rusher and the linebacker spot in general could be targets for the Broncos. Many will say look at Moore’s combine and all that stuff and that’s fine, but he was dominant on the field. Giving him a sleeping bag in the weight room should only make him that much better at the next level. He can contribute at both end and outside linebacker spots and has experience with both from his time at Texas A&M.
29. New England Patriots
Xavier Rhodes
Cornerback, Florida State
– Much will depend on the style of corner the Patriots prefer to play opposite Aqib Talib, but he succeeded with a physical style of play, so the Patriots could want more of it or want a guy that can fly around and cover guys. The guy that should not be counted out for this spot is Johnthan Banks. His ability and style of play could be a combination Bill Belichick really likes for his defense. Rhodes can dominate against the run and play a good press coverage style.
30. Atlanta Falcons
Desmond Trufant
Cornerback, Washington
– The Falcons have two major needs that need to be addressed that both impact their pass defense; corner and defensive end. Trufant gives them an athletic corner that can come in and man up guys on the weak side in what the Falcons hope are the last pieces to a Super Bowl puzzle.

31. San Francisco 49ers
Johnthan Banks
Cornerback, Mississippi State
Banks is a long corner that has a good understanding of man and zone techniques with incredible ball skills and a knack for making big plays. He needs to add bulk and be a bigger force against the run. Many will focus on a 40 time but he plays faster than guys like Xavier Rhodes. The other possibility could be a safety if the 49ers like one of the guys here as well as well as defensive line help.
32. Baltimore Ravens
Manti Te’o
Inside Linebacker, Notre Dame
– The character nonsense finally set aside, Te’o is a fantastic inside linebacker prospect for a defense like the Ravens and with another arrest for Rolando McClain, they might feel nervous about him even getting to this point.
