Former Boston College wide receiver Alex Amidon has been reportedly considering a different path than the NFL.  Amidon is considering opting to serve his country and try to become a Navy SEAL.  According to school officials, this decision is not set and is still a consideration.  Amidon set three records in his time with the Golden Eagles and has a chance to become a slot receiver in the NFL.

There had been several reports to suggest Amidon had made up his decision and was pulling out of the draft, but school officials said it was premature to come to that conclusion.  The Greenfield, Massachusetts native finished his career at Boston College with 191 receptions, 2,792 yards, and 15 touchdowns.  Here is the link to his scouting report that was written in October.

While there is no guarantee he will be drafted, he does have a skill set that could enable him to last and succeed in the NFL.  Should Amidon ultimately decide to go the military route and work to become a SEAL, he would join a long line of football players that have spent time in the military.  Whichever path he ultimately chooses, best of luck to him chasing down his dream.
