2016 NFL Free Agency Predictions

The NFL free agency period is a few weeks away from reaching a fever pitch. This year will be just as crazy as year’s past while also featuring some top-end talent. However, the way teams decide to use the franchise tag could take some of the top players off the board.

Von Miller, Muhammad Wilkerson, Kirk Cousins and Alshon Jeffery are a few of the players facing the franchise tag. These players are too important to their franchise to hit the open market. However, there are still plenty of players that will change teams.

This year features a clear group of haves and have-nots as far as cap space is concerned. The Jacksonville Jaguars and Oakland Raiders both have over $70 million to spend in free agency. On the other hand, the Buffalo Bills and Baltimore Ravens lack the resources to make a splash.

Teams like the Chicago Bears, New York Giants, San Francisco 49ers and Tennessee Titans are also in prime position to make immediate upgrades. These are all teams that have major holes on their roster so expect them to take advantage.

I used information from Spotac as a reference for each team’s current salary cap standing. This is a great site that is constantly updated.
