Chris Moore was drafted by the Baltimore Ravens in the 4th Round of the 2016, but could quickly outplay his draft status.

Ryan Mink of Baltimoreravens.com recently talked about Chris Moore appears to be a lock to make the roster. This isn’t really much of a hot take as the Ravens wouldn’t of used a 4th round pick on Moore if they felt he would struggle to stick.

I’m going to take it a step farther by saying that Moore will make an impact on the team this year. The fact he lasted to the 4th round was a bit of a shock as he has the potential to be a really effective deep threat.

Moore features a good combination of size and explosiveness. He excels at using his body to gain position and high pointing the football. Moore is also an underrated route runner who’s capable of cleanly getting in and out of his breaks.

On paper, the Ravens have several receivers ahead of Moore on the depth chart. However, this is a fluid situation as Steve Smith Jr. and Breshard Perriman are both recovering from an injury. There status for the beginning of the season is still uncertain.

Perriman’s situation is the most concerning as he has yet to see any action and might not be close to full strength. Moore has similar skills as Perriman and could quickly fill the hole in the lineup.

The Ravens offensive strategy also creates a good situation for Moore. Joe Flacco’s ability to throw the deep ball is something Baltimore likes to feature. Even the rawest of route runners are able to run that 9 route.

Basically, Moore should be a lock to make the roster and we shouldn’t be surprised if he’s worked into the offensive game plan. Baltimore might have a real steal on their hands.
