Embattled and unemployed NFL quarterback Johnny Manziel has had enough and has vowed to get sober. Well, the NFL has had enough too and just made it more difficult for him to get back in the league. If any team becomes interested in signing him they have a suspension to deal with.

The NFL just gave him four-game suspension due to a violation of the league’s substance-abuse policy. And that’s only right now as there will be more to come through the NFL’s personal-conduct policy stemming from his indictment on an assault charge.

Manziel’s ex-girlfriend, Colleen Crowley, told Dallas police that Manziel repeatedly hit her and threatened to kill her during a night out on Jan. 30. It’s not likely that Manziel will ever get back into the NFL and these days, we would all have to say that is the least of his problems.

His father, Paul Manziel, is desperate, hoping something or someone gets through to him before it’s too late. He sat down with ESPN’s Josina Anderson  and said Friday, “It’s not a secret that he’s a druggie. I don’t know what to say, other than my son is a druggie and he needs help.

“He just hasn’t sought it yet. Hopefully he doesn’t die before he comes to his senses. That’s about all you can say. I don’t know what else to say.”

If that isn’t a cry for help from a concerned father, I don’t know what is.

Please get help, Johnny!

I’m praying for you!
