2017 NFL Mock Draft

This 2017 NFL Mock Draft is an extremely early look at how things could shake out next April. Obviously, there will be a lot of changes as the year progresses, but a lot of these prospects should still be in the 1st round mix at the end.

The biggest changes will come with team needs and where each franchise is drafting. A lot of needs depend on roster development, trades and free agency.

Developing a trade order is always a bit tricky because we really don’t know how the season will shake out. Nobody would’ve predicted the Dallas Cowboys picking within the top-5 of this past year’s draft. We are likely to see similar surprises this year.

This draft order was developed by using Sports Illustrated Power Rankings and then working out a playoff scenario. The Cleveland Browns and Tennessee Titans made this a fun exercise because they own two 1st round picks.

It’s entirely possible that both teams have two picks within the top-10 picks of the 2017 NFL draft. That scenario would make for some real drama come draft season.

Please note that I’m still working on player evaluations and we have an entire season still to factor in. However, there’s enough tape on some of these prospects to get a solid base evaluation.
