For over a year now, there has been speculation about Marshawn Lynch joining the Oakland Raiders. Now there is reason to believe there is something to it.

My regular readers know I’ve been borderline obsessed with this situation for over a year now. RB is my favorite position, Marshawn Lynch is my favorite RB and the Oakland Raiders are my favorite team. So I couldn’t help myself when the speculation started.

The fact that the Raiders never issued the No. 24 to anyone after Charles Woodson retired kept my hopes up. And now, there’s more reason than ever for me to keep my hopes up. Lynch made his way down the street from his home to visit the Oakland Raiders facility Tuesday.

And yes, it is with the blessing of the Seattle Seahawks, who still have his rights. Pat McAfee of Barstool Sports is the original reporter of Lynch visiting and “talking with team officials.” To me, this has been in the works for the Raiders for a while now.

People want to call this a ploy to sell tickets because the Raiders are moving to Las Vegas. But the truth is Lynch makes the Raiders a threat to come out of the AFC and win the Super Bowl. Lynch can easily reach 1,300-1,500 yards and 10-15 TDs behind that O-line.

Then of course, they have Derek Carr at QB with WRs Amari Cooper and Michael Crabtree in the fold. TE Jared Cook and WR Cordarrelle Patterson just joined the Raiders in free agency. So if they could halfway get it together on defense, a Super Bowl really is possible.
