Final Straw Breaks For South Carolina TE Saunders

Former South Carolina tight end, Weslye Saunders has been ruled ineligible for the 2011 NFL Draft, due to a snafu made by his agent according to reports from the National Football Post.

Saunders has seen his fair share of heart ache over the course of the last year, some self inflicted and some not so much. He was suspended from the team on August 23rd for violating team rules and was later dismissed from the University after the NCAA launched an investigation for allegedly receiving illegal benefits from an agent. Saunders also had his NFL Combine invitation rescinded because his representatives failed to petition the NFL to be included in the draft.

Coming into the 2010 season, Saunders was considered one of the better tight ends. Now, he will only have a shot at being drafted via the supplemental draft. The fog has been thick for Saunders as of late, and it could get even thicker. There is a good chance he will not be drafted at all, and will be subjected to going through the process of being an un-drafted free agent.
