Larry’s NFL Mock Draft (02/21/11)

1.  Carolina Panthers – Auburn DT, *Nick Fairley

  • If you watched Fairley in the National Championship game, then you know just how dominant he is. He finished that game with 5 tackles for loss, and a sack. Unreal numbers! He’s the perfect fit for the Carolina Panthers 4-3 defense.

2. Denver Broncos – Clemson DE, *Da’Quan Bowers

  • Bowers was a beast in 2010. He was the most consistent edge rusher in the nation. He accumulated 15.5 sacks and 25 tackles for loss during his Junior campaign. He should pair up nicely with Elvis Dumervil once he returns from injury.

3. Buffalo Bills – North Carolina DE, *Robert Quinn

  • I’m finding it hard to settle down on a pick for the Bills. There’s so many holes that can be filled here. I think it would be best for them to come away with a premier pass rusher. Robert Quinn can immediately come in and line up at the Rush Outside Linebacker position in the 3-4 and cause problems for offenses.

4. Cincinnati Bengals – Georgia WR, *A.J. Green

  • The Bengals will more than likely be without receivers Chad Ochocinco and Terrell Owens next season. A.J. Green is the top receiver in the 2010 draft class, and with his size and speed, he is receiving comparisons to Randy Moss.

5. Arizona Cardinals – Texas A&M OLB, Von Miller

  • The Cardinals need to improve their pass rush. Their two starting outside linebackers combined for a total of 10 sacks in 2010. Miller is coming off of a great week of practice at the Senior Bowl. He’s an  gifted athlete who exhibits great flexibility, speed, and suddenness.
