Every year, NFL teams are rewarded with compensatory draft picks. If you are like me, then you are clueless to the qualifications one must have in order to receive one of these picks. Luckily, the NFL has provided an explanation for the common fan.
"Under the rules for compensatory draft selections, a team losing more or better compensatory free agents than it acquires in the previous year is eligible to receive compensatory draft picks. The number of picks a team receives equals the net loss of compensatory free agents up to a maximum of four."
According to the chart, it looks like the Carolina Panthers are this years biggest winner. Receiving three extra picks, one being in the third round, is excellent news for a rebuilding team. Go ahead and take a peak and see if your favorite team was awarded with any additional picks.
