Which Football Conference Will Rule the NCAA in 2011?

Looking at the non-conference schedules of the eleven conferences previously listed we can predict that the SEC plays nothing but cream puffs. The Big 10 follows the SEC’s lead. The PAC-12 is playing it safe by scheduling pretty much no one but the Little Sisters of the Poor. The Big 12 is wading into nothing but safe waters. The beast of the east Big East is purring like the runt of the litter. And, the basketball mighty ACC double dribbles at the thought of playing real non-conference opponents.

On the other side of the ledger, the WAC, C-USA and the Mountain West enter into almost constant hostile territory, as does one time WAC and Mountain West member and now Independent BYU.

I think the Sun Belt Conference will suffer heat stroke before their non-conference schedule is completed. And the poor Mid American Conference won’t know what hit them when they’re turned into road kill by the monster schedule they will have to endure.

So, will it be the big boys or the constantly disrespected upstarts that make hay in college football this year? My choice right now is for the Big 10 to come in with the best won/loss percentage of the 2011 season but that doesn’t mean that I think they are the best conference in the land. My pick for that honor, at this time, goes to the conference I can’t stand and hate to admit is number one from top to bottom in the quality of football played by its members and that’s the SEC, with the Big 10 nipping at their heels.

I think it’s a toss-up as to which conference plays the toughest non-conference schedule between the Sun Belt Conference and the Mid American Conference, closely followed by the Western Athletic Conference.

Between the eleven conferences there are 469 non-conference games and the Doctor will inform you all as to the conference with the best record of success in non-conference domination over the course of the 2011 football season.

Currently there is a bit of a logjam at the top of the standings. All eleven conferences are tied for the lead but that will soon change!

Finally, I don’t believe that the MAC and Sun Belt conferences stand a snowball’s chance in hell at being even close to a .400 winning percentage this year but they sure will bring in some big time football revenue for their conferences and themselves!
