Week 2 Reactions

2 of 2

Stock Rising

BenJarvus Green-Ellis

With the addition of Stevan Ridley, some were concerned as to how the Patriots would employ the Law Firm. Well he converted on both of his goal line carries, and on one drive even scored twice (one which was wiped out by an offensive holding penalty).

Ben Roethlisberger

Big Ben looked good, throwing for two touchdowns in the first half alone. Roethlisberger is an oft-underrated fantasy player, and without missing the first 6 games like he did last year, Roethlisberger is a very appealing sleeper pick.
Tim Hightower

Hightower certainly looked like he was going to be the featured back this season, although one can never trust a running back in a Mike Shanahan offense. The offense as a whole also looked solid under John Beck, which also bodes well for Hightower’s potential.
Lee Evans / Joe Flacco

Lee Evans looked to already have a bit of a rapport with Joe Flacco. If Evans can keep it up and be a consistent threat opposite Anquan Boldin, Flacco will have a much easier time putting up respectable fantasy numbers.

Evan Moore, TE, Cleveland Browns

Evan Moore came seemingly out of nowhere, catching 2 touchdowns in the Browns loss to the Lions. The Browns offense under Colt McCoy is starting to show a lot of promise, and if the old adage of young quarterbacks relying on a tight end holds true, Evan Moore could have a tonne of value this season.

Reggie Bush

Reggie Bush looked good both carrying the ball as well as receiving it out of the backfield. He ran well in space, and the Dolphins made him a big part of their game plan in the early stages of the game. While he didn’t receive the goal line work, Bush looked impressive, and would be especially so in a PPR league.

Tennessee Titans Running Backs

The offensive line looked very good on Saturday night. This should bode well for Chris Johnson if he is playing. However, if the hold out continues, I would be very hopeful that either Javon Ringer or rookie Jamie Harper would be able to step up and produce.

Willis McGahee

It appears that McGahee will be getting the goal line carries for the Broncos. He converted on one of two chances, and added another touchdown via a reception from Kyle Orton. Add in the fact that Knowshon Moreno is not the most durable of players, and McGahee is all the sudden looking very appealing.

Stock Falling

Roy Williams

The man intended to be Jay Cutler’s favorite new target dropped 2 of 3 passes thrown his way on Monday night. Williams is going to need to be consistent to keep the playing time is set to receive.

A.J. Green

Andy Dalton really didn’t look good. Green should be avoided unless you can get him towards the very end of the draft as a high-upside flyer.

Fred Jackson

It looks like the starting RB job in Buffalo may be C.J. Spiller’s to lose.

Matt Cassel

Rookie wide receiver Jonathan Baldwin hurt his wrist in a locker room fight with team mate Thomas Jones. Baldwin is expected to be out 6-8 weeks, which will make it easier for defenses to focus on Dwayne Bowe and take away Cassel’s best weapon.
