My (Autopick) Draft

Unfortunately, I was unable to make our Writing Staff Fantasy Draft so I had to rely on the ESPN autopick system. It isn’t uncommon to have some number of owners use the autopick system as it is usually extremely difficult to get all 8, 10, 12 or however many owners to be available at the same time. My personal preference is to never use autopick as I’ve found that some of the decisions they make can be questionable at best. I do what I can do to rearrange my schedule to make sure to attend, but this time that just wasn’t possible.

I figured that this would be a good opportunity to review how the autopick worked for me as well as cover what I would have done differently if present. Our league is a pretty standard 12-team league that starts 1 QB, 2 RB, 2 WR, and 1 each of Flex (RB/WR), TE, K and DEF.

Overall, I think my team turned out pretty solid. My WR’s are a bit weak, but I think I have some depth in other areas to trade from. I wasn’t happy that the autopick took a DEF so high but was pleasantly surprised that they waited until the last round to take a K (typically, the autopicks fill up an entire starting lineup before filling in bench spots). I also have no idea how it drafted four QB’s when we only start one, but oh well. I had the 11th pick in a typical snake-style draft. On to the selections:
