Players to Watch to this Weekend
By Editorial Staff
Alshon Jeffery WR South Carolina:
South Carolina faces off against East Carolina, which shouldn’t be too much of a challenge for the loaded Gamecocks. However, Coach Steve Spurrier is going with Connor Shaw as his quarterback for week 1. This is an intriguing development over the last week, as the senior, Stephen Garcia, was widely seen as the clear starter. Shaw has a good arm but watch to see what kind of chemistry he has with Jeffery, who is a potential first round pick.
Game time: 9/3 at 7pm
LaMichael James RB Oregon:
The biggest game of this weekend is easily Oregon vs. LSU. The preseason third and fourth ranked teams respectively, will
feature plenty of high profile talent. James who led the nation with 24 touchdowns and a 144.3 rushing yards per game average will be one of the highlights. James surprisingly chose to defer the draft and return to school last spring. Tune in tonight at 8 to see if James’s decision paid off.
Game time 9/3 at 8pm
Kellen Moore QB Boise State:
If for some reason you’re not watching the Oregon vs. LSU game, then you need to tune into the Boise State vs. Georgia game. Kellen Moore is one his way to passing Colt McCoy as winningest quarterback in college football history. Moore is one of the top QB’s in college football coming
into the year, having completed over 71% of his passes last year, for 3,800 yards, and 35 touchdowns. I’ll be watching to see if the departure of Austin Pettis and Titus Young affect Moore’s productivity.
