The Packers are coming into the season riding high after their first championship since 1996. The Packers got hot at the right time last year and were able to run the gauntlet to become Super Bowl Champions. Their offense is prolific, and with starters Ryan Grant, and Jermichael Finley back in the lineup they will be a high-octane offense once again this year.

The Saints counter with a high powered passing attack of their own, with Drew Brees spreading the ball around to his various weapons with pinpoint accuracy. The Saints have made some changes in their running attack this offseason, drafting Mark Ingram, shipping Reggie Bush off to Miami, and signing Darren Sproles. Even with all the turnover look for the Saints to use their backs in the same roles that they had last year. Pierre Thomas will start; Ingram will get some carries and could steal some goal line carries away from Thomas. Sproles will presumably step into Reggie Bush’s role as a 3rd down back and a player who can catch some balls coming out of the backfield.

With two high-powered offenses set to take the national stage tonight there are two questions that each defense must answer tonight. With the departure of Cullen Jenkins, will 3rd year DE Mike Neal be able to step up and fill in the void left by Jenkins departure. Also will the additions of Aubrayo Franklin and Shaun Rogers fortify the Saints defensive line? If the Saints can make the Packers one-dimensional they can return to the ball hawking secondary that won them a championship in 2009.

Traveling on the road into Green Bay is no easy feat. The Packers have said all the right things leading up to the game, and seem to have put last year in the past. Tonight will showcase two prolific offenses and is sure to provide a show for all football fans that have been anxiously waiting for football. In the end, the Packers will be too much for the Saints, and will win their home opener.
