Things I Think…

I think

In reference to Luck, here are my three teams currently trending in the “Luck Zone”.  These three are currently the teams who I think can be in the discussion for the first pick in the 2012 Draft after week two.

1) Carolina Panthers- the Panthers could not ask for better performances from their new quarterback , throwing for over 400 yards in each of their first two games, yet they came up short in both.  What will happen when Newton’s play slows down if they cant win when hes playing out of his mind?

2) Indianapolis Colts- they just lost to a very average Browns team at home.  It is about to get worse before it gets better in Indy.

3) Seattle Seahawks- They have so many glaring holes and without an NFL caliber quarterback they will struggle to win  many (if any) games this year.

Honorable Mention: The Kansas City “IR” Chiefs…the Chiefs string of bad luck could lead to some good Luck in April.

I think…

Ray Rice has solidified himself as the second best running back in the NFL, after Adrian Peterson of course.  He has become an elite runner, receiver and blocker.  There isn’t anything he cant do and his touchdown yesterday was awesome.  I have no problem saying that I would rather have him (in real football, not fantasy) than Johnson, Charles, Foster, or anyone else that is in the discussion for second best.

I think…

There have been so many fantasy seasons derailed due to injuries and it is only week two. A friend of mine is in a keeper league and kept both Jamal Charles and Peyton Manning (they were declared in August) and has Moreno, Moeaki and Hernandez on his roster.  He has already given up on this year and I am sure the season ending injury to Jamal Charles yesterday caused a few other people to reconsider why they play fantasy football.  We spend so much time analyzing players before our drafts. We stay up at night debating who we should take in the first round and yet one ACL tear can make it all seem like a huge waste of time.

I think…

I really hope Oklahoma and Alabama play each other in the National Championship this year.  Oklahoma came away with a victory on Saturday against fifth ranked Florida State, but they caught a break when Seminoles starting quarterback EJ Manuel left the game in the second half with an injury.  Oklahoma got the job done, but they really did not look overly impressive.  I think they will have their hands full if they play a team like Alabama who has an exceptional secondary and an impressive run game.  It would be a really great match up and I hope (although it is still very early in the season) it comes to fusion.
