Rematch of 70’s Dynasties

When two teams that dislike each other play, the potential for greatness brings out the best they have, especially when the game is for all the marbles.  So it was that once again the two dominant franchises of the 1970’s would meet in the Orange Bowl for the championship game, only this time it was the Cowboys who were the defending champions.  In a game that had everything you’d like to see in a championship contest, game MVP Terry Bradshaw would once again lead his team to a late lead, only to see the indomitable Roger Staubach mount a furious rally in the fourth quarter.  After a late Dallas touchdown the Steelers recovered a second Dallas onside-kick that finally sealed the game.  Surpassing all expectations, Super Bowl 13 is remembered as one of the greatest games of all time for good reason: the big plays by both teams, the hall of famers on both teams in the game, and one ill-fated drop in the end zone in the third quarter.
