Prospect of the Day: Landry Jones Oklahoma Sooners QB

Our prospect of the day today is a player who really needs to have a bounce back season. In 2011 Jones was still a productive college football player and wasn’t that far off his pace from 2010.

What Jones did do though was show a tendency to really struggle in the face of a pass rush. The Florida State game is one them comes to mind. Jones has a N.F.L. arm and size at 6’4 229 pounds, but he needs to show better poise in the pocket. Jones needs a big bounce back year and if he does he could compete with Matt Barkley to be the first Qb drafted in the 2013 N.F.L. draft.

I think if he were in the 2012 N.F.L. draft I would avoid him entirely in the first round (though he’d likely get drafted in the first round).
