In 2009 the Detroit Lions selected Georgia Quarterback Matthew Stafford with the number one overall pick. Though Stafford battled through injuries his first two seasons Stafford had a breakout year this year throwing for over 5,000 yards and over 40 touchdowns. Stafford is the protypical quarterback, he was highly recruited out of high school, he has terrific size a cannon for an arm and looks the part. In 2013, Georgia might again send another quarterback to the first round, but this time he’s a much different player.
Aaron Murray is a redshirt sophomore (this past season ) who is a shorter quarterback at 6’1 who is tough and as terrific athletic ability. He throws a beautiful looking spiral, but he needs to improve his accuracy, he improved only 59 percent of his passes this past season and threw 14 interceptions (the 35 touchdowns are nice). He’s not the protype quarterback that Stafford was, but he could be the next Georgia quarterback to be drafted in the first round and bears watching during the 2012 College Football season.
