The Green Bay Packers have made a big re-signing, per ESPN’s Adam Schefter, bringing back star tight end Jermichael Finley on a fairly modest two-year, $15 million deal.
Finley had a somewhat down season in 2011, catching only 55 passes but he finished the year with 767 yards and eight touchdowns, and is one of the most dangerous tight ends in the game today.
After the news broke, Finley himself confirmed it via his Twitter page, and he was pretty pumped about it:
"“It’s TRUE! Thank you so much to the Packers organization, all my fans, and my beautiful wife.”"
Finley is only 24 years old, and he is a key piece of the Green Bay offense. Losing him could have been critical for them, so locking him up for two years at the deal they did seems pretty fair and a good move by Green Bay’s management.
