The love/hate relationship with Tim Tebow continues this time courtesy of Todd McShay. The Broncos have recently made it known that they will bring in two other quarterbacks to play behind Tim Tebow, which is a smart thing to do. But today while listening to Mike and Mike radio I heard that as of today Todd McShay has talented, but raw Texas A and M quarterback Ryan Tannehill currently mocked to the Denver Broncos with the 25th pick overall in the draft.
The question is not whether or not the Denver Broncos should draft Ryan Tannehill if he was available at 25 (what they should do if their committed to Tebow is trade down because there are a few teams that would be interested in acquiring Tannehill that late in the draft), but would they?
Tannehill offers the mobility that some teams covet at the Quarterback position, as a former WR (and a very productive one to boot) for the Aggies. Tannehill also has a big arm and can make the N.F.L. throws. He’s a very different quarterback prospect than Tebow, more aligned with what Elway seems to be looking for in his franchise signal caller. Also at 25 it would present great positional value.
Still I think it’s extremely unlikely that Tannehill would be the pick. It’s just an interesting thing to ponder.
