Key Games
- Texas A&M
Against the Aggies last season, Cooper had just 34 receiving yards on two receptions, which was inflated because one of his catches went for 21 yards. This time around, the Crimson Tide will host A&M in the middle of their SEC schedule, looking to defend their home turf after Johnny Manziel & Co. were victorious in their last visit to Tuscaloosa.
- LSU
The LSU-Alabama matchup is one of the more entertaining matchups in college football on a yearly basis. Last season, despite Bama coming out victorious 38-17, Cooper had just three receptions for 45 yards. With a trip to Death Valley coming late in the year, Cooper will need to have a strong performance in order to keep Alabama’s (presumed) playoff aspirations alive.
- Auburn
Rivalry games seem to bring out the best in everyone. That was the case with Cooper last year as he hauled in six receptions for a season-high 178 yards and a touchdown in last year’s last-second, heart-breaking loss to their hated rival.
System Fit
Cooper is versatile enough to fit into nearly any offense. He lines up all over the field, showing the ability to make plays down the seams from the slot and outside the numbers as an X receiver. Cooper needs to become a bit more consistent with his hands to become a possession receiver, but he has the potential to be a big play threat in the NFL.
