To start the season, the Raiders were getting run all over the field with the run defense at the bottom of the league. But every since Justin “Jelly” Ellis was inserted into the starting lineup, the Raiders’ run defense has climbed up six spots. They’re still an inside backer away from have a great run defense but Ellis has mightily improve them and is a solid building block.

He can also rush the passer a little bit as he simply bulls his man back to wherever the quarterback is. But as far as the running game goes, you need at least two to block him and you still can’t move him back. If there were a stat for pancake’s by a defensive lineman, Ellis would be the leader of that this year.
