Jackson Handling it

Since winning the starting right guard job over Khalif Barnes in camp, Gabe Jackson has been stellar. He is a real bright-spot on an offensive line that was supposed to be a team strength but isn’t very good. When the Raiders run his way between Jackson and left tackle Donald Penn is when they have success running the ball.

And in the passing game, rookie quarterback Derek Carr’s blind side is protected from inside to out. All of Carr’s sacks except for maybe one have come from right up the middle or to the right. The road-grading run blocker and wall of a pass protector is the best guard the Raiders have had since Frank Middleton.
