Pick No. 13: Trae Waynes: (Michigan State)

With the 13th pick in the NFL Draft, the Houston Texans select cornerback Trae Waynes from the Michigan State Spartans. The Texans’ offense will be explosive again when quarterback  Ryan Mallet gets comfortable with the system and team. The Texans also have a treacherous front seven on defense so giving Jonathan Joseph some help at the other corner is a good idea.

I believe Marcus Peters of Washington is a better corner but his issues with the coaching staff will cost him in the draft. Unless you’re Deion Sanders and he didn’t even do that, the answers pro personnel people get from coaches about a player can make or break them. Waynes has no such problem to date and is the next best player on the board as well as next best corner.
