With the 26th pick in the NFL Draft, the Indianapolis Colts select inside linebacker Denzel Perryman from Miami. Right now, no one is running on the Colts because opposing teams have to try to catch up with the points quarterback Andrew Luck puts on the board. It also doesn’t hurt that he plays in the weak AFC South so Luck can cover his team’s weaknesses for now.

But when the Colts get in the playoffs, they’re going to have to stop the run because that’s what playoff football is all about. They give up 4.4 yards per carry on the ground right now and that doesn’t bode well for them in their playoff run. An inside linebacker like Perryman makes the Colts much better against the run next year and the hard hitter can remove the finesse label the Colts have.
