With the 28th pick in the NFL Draft, the Cleveland Browns select nose tackle Ellis McCarthy from the UCLA Bruins. The Browns give up 4.7 yards per carry on the ground this year so they’re not going to get very far in the playoffs. So McCarthy is a good option here as the 6’4″, 330-pound mammoth is a 5-gap (exaggeration) player that will help stuff the run.

He also has some quickness and explosion to get a push up front to push the pocket in opposing quarterbacks’ laps. Not only will the Browns need a run-stuffer in the playoffs next year but they will face some good running backs in the AFC North too. It looks like the Browns are going to be reckoned with for years to come now with all the young talent they have put together.
