What Peers Say

If you ever want to really know about a player, opposing coaches and players is a good place to start. After playing against Mack in Week , 8, Cleveland Browns quarterback Brian Hoyer spoke highly of him to Vic Tafur of the San Francisco Gate.

"From Tafur: “He [Mack] gained the respect of everybody on our team. That guys is one of the best players we’ve gone against this year and that’s a unanimous decision in that locker room.”"

The Browns didn’t speak in the same tones when talking about of Clowney before the Browns’ Week 11 game against the Texans.  As a matter of fact, Browns left tackle Joe Thomas sounded more respectful toward Clowney’s backup than he did Clowney to Ohio.com.

"From Marla Ridenour:"

“It would really hurt not to have the No. 1 guy in the draft out there, but [Whitney] Mercilus has done an excellent job, maybe even playing better than Clowney so far.”
