Burst off the Edge
In 2013, Orchard had two sacks against Stanford elite left tackle prospect and Andrus Peat—one of which dropped my jaws. Quarterback Kevin Hogan was in the shotgun and Orchard came off the ball so fast, he had beaten Peat by the time Hogan caught the ball. Orchard topped off the quickest get-off from the edge I’ve seen since Derrick Thomas with a strip-sack.
Peat is arguably the best 2015 NFL Draft prospect at left tackle coming out and Peat didn’t have a chance on the play. To go with the burst he has, Orchard comes with a spin move, dip move, swim move and has quick hands to knock your hands down. He has all these skills but he can get 10 sacks in the NFL with his burst off the edge alone.
