2015 NFL Draft Prospect Sammy Coates

Bottom Line

I couldn’t resist comparing Coates to Cooper because they are both prospects and were on the same field Saturday night. With his speed and down-the-field prowess, I thought Coates picked up some ground on Cooper while placing him self right under him, pulling even with Kevin White. You may think it’s because I’m a prisoner of the moment here but I’m not that impressed the the other guys outside of White.

Cooper isn’t the fastest nor does he have the best hands in his class but his route running is what separates him from the rest. His understanding of where to be and how to get there in a pro system is just too much for Coates or anyone to take his spot. However, Coates with his speed and upside did close a lot of the ground that was between them going into Saturday.
