Competition

Of all the left tackle prospects in the draft, Peat by far had the toughest competition to go against this year and played well. Those that believe in the SEC bias need to save that for another day because I’m talking about individuals, not a team. Peat faced the three best edge rushers in the nation and the most dominant defensive lineman and all of college football.

Washington outside linebacker Hau’oli Kikaha and Utah DE/OLB Nate Orchard are No. 1 and 2 in the nation in sacks. Then there’s 3-4 end Leonard Williams who’s the most dominant football player in college also going in the first round. These were all great battles to watch with everyone having their moments but Peat gave up only one sack to Orchard in those three hard fought battles.
