Throwing Ability

Along with the big arm that we’ve always known Winston has, his accuracy sets him far apart from any other quarterback prospect. Every quarterback in this year’s draft can complete a pass down the field to a receiver that’s wide open. But Winston can fit a ball into a tight, NFL type window or into the tightest of man coverage, he can throw his receiver open.

I was extremely impressed with a throw he made down the seam to tight end Nick O’Leary, his reliable security blanket. Against a zone defense, Winston showed the touch and accuracy to drop that ball behind the linebacker and in front of the safety. That’s the type of accuracy that’s needed to make throws in the NFL and Winston has the ability to do that.
