Harbaugh Effect
I’m going to go ahead and count the Raiders’ roosters before they hatch because there’s no way Harbaugh will continue to coach the San Francisco 49ers. At the same time he and his family love the Bay Area and he revers Al Davis who, gave him his first coaching job. And when he comes, he’s bringing No. 1 NFL G.M. candidate Tom Gamble with him as Gamble worked with him in San Francisco before moving on to the Philadelphia Eagles.
Gamble was responsible for the 49ers picking guard Mike Iupati and has familiarity Eagles receiver Jeremy Maclin. So those are two needs I believe will be met just by having Gamble as Harbaugh brings inside linebacker Michael Wilhoite from the 49ers. Harbaugh will likely bring defensive coordinator Vic Fangio with him too and I believe that makes it even attractive for someone like Rolando McClain to be the other inside linebacker.
I really believe that’s a possibility with Reggie McKenzie, Dennis Allen and defensive coordinator Jason Tarver out of the way. People like to scream out Amari Cooper’s name but he doesn’t garner consideration for a Top-3 pick in the draft. Plus Rod Streater will be back as a great No. 2 receiver with Maclin being quarterback Derek Carr’s No. 1 target.
