Denzel Perryman

Miami Hurricanes inside linebacker Denzel Perryman is the hardest hitter in college football and soon to be one of the hardest in the NFL. On most of the draft boards I’ve seen, he’s projected to go in the second round while looking like a 1st-rounder to me. To go with his hard hits to finish plays, he is instinctive with a nose for the ball and does a good job in coverage.

For the season, Perryman has 102 tackles, 8.5 for a loss, three forced fumbles, two sacks, four pass-breakups and an interception. With numbers like that, you wonder why he doesn’t go in the first round but the scouting world seems to be holding his 5’11” height against him. Well, the San Francisco 49ers got a steal from Wisconsin, in the third round last year so here’s the next Chris Borland.
