Ty Montgomery

Stanford Cardinal receiver Ty Montgomery wowed scouts in 2013, especially with his 290 all-purpose yards against the Washington Huskies. The 6’2″, 215-pounder looked like Tim Brown on steroids as he had a 99-yard kickoff return, a 39-yard reception and a 36-yard run in the game. The reception and return were touchdowns  as the reception was against Marcus Peters, the best on-the-field corner in the 2015 draft.

But this year was a major disappointment for Montgomery and his draft stock has understandably fallen. But it wasn’t his fault as his quarterback, Kevin Hogan, who was never good, was even worse this year at throwing the ball down the field. Montgomery is still a game changer that can do it in so many ways so if he actually falls to the third round like part of the scouting world has suggested, he’ll be the steal of the 2015 NFL Draft.
