There were a few top NFL Draft prospects in this matchup between the Miami Hurricane’s and the South Carolina Gamecocks. The Gamecocks won the game 24-21 but prospect matchup went to the Hurricanes as Gamecocks lone top prospect, guard A.J. Cann, didn’t play too well. The Hurricanes had guys showing out as left tackle Ereck Flowers, who has been rising up draft boards lately, became a top prospect, not letting anyone get near the quarterback Saturday.
Hurricanes inside linebacker Denzel Perryman showed out as he came down hill to hold Gamecocks running back Mike Davis to 55 yards rushing while excelling in coverage. Then back to the offense for the Hurricanes, running back Duke Johnson showed out to the tune of 24 carries for 132 yards. He showed power to break tackles to go with his vision, speed, acceleration and moves to move in right behind Todd Gurley and Melvin Gordon among running backs.
