Todd Gurley of the Georgia Bulldogs is reportedly doing well in his rehab from knee surgery. But many wonder about his draft status because the running back is supposed to be the most devalued position in the NFL these days and that may be so. I don’t think its the position that’s devalued, it’s that a lot of yesterday’s running backs are playing receiver.
Your freaky athletic, strong, fast, 6’3″, 220-230-pounders are playing receiver instead of running back. So the running back position has gotten a little watered but they didn’t all go. Demarco Murray, Adrian Peterson, Marshawn Lynch and Le’veon Bell are all carrying their teams.
And this year, Gurley would have been a Top-10 pick if not for an injury and still may be selected in the first round.
