Round, 6: Josh Shaw
I like cornerback D.J. Hayden’s progress this year as a player that still hasn’t had an offseason. I see big things happening for him as well as T.J. Carrie and Keith McGill, who had their moments this year. But the thing about it is they all spent some time broke off (injured) on the self.
And then you have legendary Charles Woodson, who we don’t know long will stay at his high level. So the pick here should be Josh Shaw, who was previously projected to be undrafted until he played well in the Shrine Game with and interception. At 6’1″, 200 pounds, he’ a poor man’s Woodson as he has the versatility to play corner and safety.
His value here is that he can back up all of the corner and safety spots if someone goes down. Then ultimately, when the Sun sets on Woodson’s career, he will have learned enough from him to take his place. And as far as his trouble with the law goes, he wasn’t charged with anything so there’s no huge concerns there.
