The Book on Gregory

With Gregory, it all starts at first glance with him as he is 6’6″, 245 pounds with long arms. He has plenty of room to add weight to his lean frame to play 4-3 end but now translates as a 3-4 outside linebacker. He especially translates there because he is very athletic and doesn’t have problems playing in space.

Gregory has been clocked at 4.6 in the 40 and recorded a 38-inch vertical leap while in school. The NFL personnel world loves that about him as he converts it to burst off the edge to rush the passer. They also like the way he uses his length to shed blocks and body control to dip on blockers.

The one knock the scouting world has against him is what they describe as his “lanky” frame. They say he struggles to anchor at the point of attack and that causes him to get driven off the ball. They want to see him put on some weight and gain leverage on offensive lineman by playing lower.

And of course, there’s concern about his knee.
