What I See

I definitely agree with the scouting worlds take on Allen’s build to take the punishment of an NFL running back. And yes, he has plenty of leg-drive to get extra yards after contact, especially near the goal line. His vision, patience and burst to get through openings are all there when you watch him play too.

He’s good picking up the blitz and catches the ball well not just out of the backfield but you can line him up out wide and in the slot too. Therefore, you can use him down the field in the passing game, not just on screens and check-downs. But what he doesn’t get enough credit for is his ability to make a man miss out in space as the first man always misses him out in the open field.

I don’t agree with the scouting world’s take on him as far as balance goes and the high-cut-frame thing is silly to me. I won’t say that Allen has elite speed but he has the speed to take it the distance as he makes all the way when he’s out in front. He can do himself a huge favor at the NFL Scouting Combine by running his 40 under 4.5 though.
