Bottom Line

Allen may not get the hype the others do but he could very well be the most complete running back in the draft. And with the pro style Xs and Os head coach Steve Sarkisian uses, he’s the most pro ready. He’s also versatile as you can line him up at receiver or running back and he’ll catch the ball for you.

Allen’s 41 catches for 458 yards to go with his 1,489 yards rushing are a testament to his versatility. Quarterbacks are safe under his watch too as he understands and executes his pass protections. He has a nose for the goal line, using his size, strength and leg-drive to push his way in for scores.

He can also make a man miss with the best of them and while he’s not crazy-fast, he can take it the distance. He may be the best prospect because he’s the fresh as he had only 416 career carries. Compare that to 631 carries for Gordon in four years with 343 of them coming this year.

What’s not to like about this?

He’s definitely ready for the NFL as he told Inside USC’s Scott Wolf of his decision to enter the draft early, “I went home to Florida and talked it over with my family. I’m proud to have been the first one in my family to have gone to college, and I’ve been blessed to say I played football in college. Now I’m ready to take to the next level. Every kid dreams of the moment.”

Right now, he’s projected to go 2-3.

A blazing combine time could push him up further.
