Round, 1: Leonard Williams
Yes, I still have Leonard Williams as the Raiders’ first pick in the 2015 NFL Draft in May. Raiders G.M. Reggie McKenzie has repeatedly said that he wants guys that want to be Raiders. And Williams, from Bakersfield, California, fits under the category of wanting to be a Raider.
And it doesn’t hurt that he’s the best football player on the board as he’s actually the best player in the draft. He also fits a need as the Raiders were tied for No. 30 in sacks with only 22. And as the Raiders bring in Louisville defensive coordinator Todd Grantham, I suspect the Raiders are looking to run the 3-4 in 2015.
They’ll need inside linebackers but outside linebacker Khalil Mack would take over games in a 3-4. Sio Moore would play on the other side and be disruptive to opposing quarterbacks and offenses too. Then you have Justin Ellis, who’s the quintessential nose tackle in the middle of the defense with Ndamukong Suh at the other end.
