Bottom Line

After finally having a good free agency period before another great draft, the Raiders have a good roster. Iupati graded out as good, Thomas graded out as average and Suh graded out as elite and I’m going to stay with that grade for 2015. From the draft, I graded Williams out as elite, Perryman as good, Dorsett as average and Jones as average as the rest don’t qualify.

That puts the Raiders roster at 38 percent which falls just short of what the Raiders need to be contenders on paper. But you never know about this because the Dallas Cowboys had a contending roster and didn’t make the NFC Championship game this year. The Philapdelphia Eagels had the No. 5 roster that didn’t make the Conference Championship game and missed the playoffs.

The Giants are at No. 8 and yet they’ll pick in the top 10 so there is no be all, end all on paper.

But I’m sure Raiders fans would love to see 38 percent over what they’ve been seeing.
