What I See

The fact that Phillips is 6’6″, 334 pounds isn’t something I can agree or disagree on. And and even though his 69-yard touchdown on a fumble return didn’t count because of a penalty, it counts on his scouting report for his speed. And I kept rewinding as Phillips was getting off on the snap darn-near as fast as a defensive end.

And yes, he rolls centers back to the quarterback but the scouting world doesn’t do it much justice. He bowls these centers back fast as he picks up steam even through contact with them. The quick hands to slap hands away or use a swim-move are there too and I saw the 334-pounder use a spin-move.

He have to agree with the scouting world on how ball carriers easily avoid him when he’s in position to make a play. Where he thinks the ball carrier is going and where he goes are two different places at times and he compounds it by putting his head down. I would also like to see him bat more ball down at the line of scrimmage with his length because he gets close enough.
