2015 2-Round NFL Mock Draft: Marcus Mariota Falls
Jacksonville Jaguars
The Jaguars can go offense now because they have set themselves up on the defensive side of the ball. And Marcedes Lewis hasn’t done Jack since signing with the Jaguars so he will likely be gone. Then they end up picking tight end Maxx Williams in the second round so Bortles can have a security blanket.
Washington Redskins
Turning Robert Griffin III into a pocket passer will be next to impossible with the offensive line the Washington Redskins have. So the pick here should be Brandon Scherff, who’s stock fell because he’s more of a right tackle. So the Redskins take him and move him to right tackle to solidify the other side of the pocket.
New York Jets
The Jets need to protect the passer better with Geno Smith now throwing to Amari Cooper. De’Brickashaw Ferguson has one more year left in him at left tackle so they should take La’el Collins in the second round. They can move him to the right side and either move him to the left side in the future or draft Ferguson’s replacement.
