The Book on Strong

At 6’3″, 215 pounds, the scouting and personnel worlds love the modern-day receiver size Strong has. And even more, they love the way he uses it because he is very physical at the line of scrimmage and bodies up well to make catches. That physicality that they love also extends to after the catch as he often breaks tackles.

He doesn’t have elite speed but he’s pretty fast, and the scouting world likes his quickness. They see that his ability to shake corners at the line of scrimmage makes him a deep threat as he gets a stop on them right away. Then of course, there’s the hands he plucks balls out of the air with and makes circus catches.

What the scouting world doesn’t like is they don’t believe he extends his arms fully to high-point balls, to take advantage of his height. They also said that he needs to sharpen up on his route running, saying he depends too much on posting up corners. They say that he fights the ball instead of naturally and effortlessly catching it.
