Scouts’ Take

Strengths: CBSSports’ Rob Rang said of Kikaha’s strengths, “He has solid build and muscle tone, holding the point of attack well and rarely giving up ground. He has active hands with strong hand-punch to fight through blockers’ jabs. Displays flexible body control, coordinated feet and fluid change of direction skills to flatten and make sharp 90-degree turns. Has a fiery motor and has the top-notch work ethic on and of the field to continue his development at the NFL level.”

Lance Zlerlien said of his strengths, “Relentless. Plays with his and in the ground and stands up. Scheme versatile. Best fit is in a 3-4. Intelligent player. Excellent with his hands possessing a variety of techniques. He was a judo champion when he was younger and a high school wrestler so he understands hand placement and leverage. Good change of direction. Maintains a low center of gravity on his rush without losing his wheels.”

Weaknesses: Rang said of his weaknesses, “He isn’t overly explosive. He needs to be a more consistent finisher and tends to get lazy with his tackling technique. Rang also made reference to his Senior Bowl Week saying, “Kikaha struggled in linebacker drills, especially in changing directions as he backpedaled.”

Zlerlein said of his weaknesses, “Can get swallowed up in the run game at defensive end. Has had knee issues in prior seasons. Perceived as a one-trick pony [pass-rushing specialist]. Upfield specialist and he does’t set the edge consistently. Needs to work on playing in space. Gets overly aggressive at times. Has had two ACL injuries and medicals will need to be scrutinized.”
