My Take

There is no question about Perryman’s physicality because the man is a pure, unadulterated hitter. That along with his powerful hand-punch make it near-impossible to stay on a block with him. I’ve seen him on tape run into the designed gap of a short-yardage run and make the collision that blew it up.

He’s such a thumper, he does more than knock offensive lineman back, he knocks them on their butts. But shedding and taking on blocks isn’t the only way he gets to the ball carrier as he also evades them. But he seems to like it better when he puts an over-300-pound lineman on the ground.

And after that, he has plenty of ammo left for the ball carrier to make another explosive hit. By no means is he a stopper in coverage but Perryman is capable and isn’t the “liability they make him out to be to me. But I’ll agree with the scouts’ take of how he bites on the run play-action and leaves opportunities in coverage at times
